By using Tangent you agree to what is set out below. It is a hobby project run privately from Finland for the airsoft and milsim community, provided as it is.

Your account

Accounts are approved by an administrator before they can be used. Keep your password to yourself: anything done through your account is treated as done by you. One account per person.

Conduct

• Use the site lawfully, and do not use it to harass, impersonate or endanger anyone.
• Do not post content you have no right to post, and do not upload images belonging to someone else without their permission.
• Do not attempt to gain access to accounts, data or parts of the site that are not yours, and do not put unreasonable automated load on it.

Prohibited content

The following is not allowed anywhere on Tangent, including profiles, profile pictures, team and game area pages, event descriptions, uploaded images, map pins, comments, the site chat and feedback:

• Sexual or pornographic material, and sexualised depictions of any kind. This is a site for organising airsoft and milsim events, and people using it include minors.
• Anything unlawful under Finnish or European Union law. This includes material depicting the sexual abuse of a child, threats, incitement to violence or to hatred against a group, terrorist material, the personal details of another person published to expose or endanger them, malware, and material that infringes someone else's copyright.
• Using the site to plan or coordinate real-world violence, or to disguise it as a game. Airsoft is a sport; nothing here is a cover for anything else.

What happens if you post prohibited content

Content that breaks the rules above is removed without notice, and the account that posted it is suspended or deleted. There is no warning and no appeal for the most serious categories.

Where content appears to be criminal, material depicting the sexual abuse of a child above all, it is reported to the Finnish police. In that case the account's data, including the IP addresses recorded with the account, its sessions and the content itself, is preserved and disclosed to the authorities as required by law, and is kept for as long as an investigation needs it. A request to delete your account does not override this.

If you find something on this site that breaks these rules, report it.

Comments

You can leave comments on profiles, teams and game areas. A comment is public to everyone signed in, and carries your name and the time you posted it. You can delete your own comments at any time; a moderator can delete any comment, and comments go with the profile, team or game area they were left on if that is deleted. Comments are covered by the rules above. A comment is not a lesser place to break them.

Reporting

Every event, team, game area and profile carries a report control. Use it if you find something that breaks these rules. Reporting hides nothing on its own: a moderator reads the report and decides. Do not use it to harass someone you disagree with.

Content you post

You keep the rights to what you post. By posting it here you allow the site to store and display it to other users for the purpose of running events. Content that breaks these terms may be removed.

Events and safety

Events are organised and run by their organizers, not by Tangent. Site information about an event, including maps, boundaries and game areas, is provided for planning and may be inaccurate or out of date. Safety at an event, and permission to be on the land it is held on, are the organizer's responsibility and yours.

Mirrored listings

Some events shown here are mirrored from kuulaportti.fi as a read-only listing. They belong to that site, sign-up happens there, and their details are only as accurate as the last sync.

Events mirrored from kuulaportti.fi have their description and image re-hosted here. If you own that material and want it removed, use the removal form on the event itself, or write to the address below.

Availability

The site is provided without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, lose data, or change at any time. Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything that matters, and do not rely on it as the only means of communication during an event.

Suspension

An account that breaks these terms may be suspended or removed. You may stop using the site at any time and ask for your account to be deleted.
